Congressman Tom Tancredo received a warm
welcome at the Horseshoe Café in Benson on Friday, Jan.
20, 2006.
Tancredo has long been a strong supporter
for closed borders. He tirelessly pounds the Senate and
the House of Representatives to get bills approved in the House
to deal with the massive number of illegal alien crossings into
the U.S.
About 30-40 people were present including
Sheriff Larry Dever, also Bay Buchanan, who is traveling with
Tom and is a very outspoken person about our national disaster.
Gail Griffin and Katherine Harvey came
with lots of Republicans to support him as well. Wes
Flowers, the former world champion in the Fast Draw, an old
friend of mine, was also there adding support.
Tom emphasized that getting HR4437
approved by the House provides only 50 % of the needed effect;
the other 50 % will be accomplished when the President signs
the bill. Failing passage, “Plan B” would be
that the President would push through his amnesty plan in the
form of a guest worker program. Bay Buchanan said for all
of us to call the Senate and Congress and tell them that it
will be the Republican Party’s fault if President Bush
succeeds with his guest worker program/amnesty program.
Tom Tancredo called the Minuteman
“heroes” then, and still calls them
“heroes” now. He said: “Was is not a
coincidence that I called the Minuteman “heroes”
when, at the same time, President Bush called them
“vigilantes”?”
Mercer, VP of the Minuteman organization
made a strong statement: “Only united can we win this
fight!”
Tom Tancredo will be traveling to both
South and North Carolina in the coming weeks to get his message
out and to get the support of the people of the U.S.A. in his
cause to secure our borders.
At the meeting Al Garza, the executive
director for the Minuteman organization handed Tancredo
his official Minuteman ID card. Connie Foust, National
Vetting Director and Bill Foust, National Training Director of
MCDC added their support.
Mercedes Maharis, film producer of the
movie “Cries From The Border” was there as well.
Many from the media got some good shots of Tom. He
does have that sweet smile. Don’t let that fool you
though! He is an ironclad person who does not take
“No” for an answer.
Tom said: “We did not think that
Prop 200 was going to make it and it was the start; the
avalanche is started and we won’t stop until we get our
borders secured and until our laws will be enforced!” Tom
would certainly make a great president!
Thank you, Ron and Linda Meadows for
organizing the event. Special thanks to the owner of the
Horseshoe Café for allowing the Minutemen to use his
restaurant for the event!
Thank you, Great Americans, to make this
morning a success for Tom!
