CIVIC TOWN PLAN
CHARRETTE
The Plan is Finished!
Representatives of the State Historic Preservation Office and Charrette teal will present the completed Tombstone civic Town Plan to the City and the general public at Schieffelin Hall at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 27th.
A presentation of the completed plan will precede distribution of free Tombstone Civic Plan posters depicting the six major issues of the plan along with copies of the printed Civic Town Plan Report on the September 2005 Planning Charrette.
The Charrette was conducted by the City of Tombstone assisted by the Arizona State Historic Presentation Office, the National Park Service and the Arizona State University Community Design Studio.
Participating in the Charrette with Tombstone residents, business owners and civic leaders were representatives from the Arizona State Office of Tourism, the National Trust for Historic Preservation and Arizona State Parks.
Professional urban planners and architects participating as Charette Team members included Roger Schluntz, FAIA, Dean of the College of Architecture at the University of New Mexico; Ken Anderson, AIA of RNL Design; Stephen Thompson, AIA of Jensvold/Thompson Architects; and Sunni Jackson of Urban Earth Design.
The Tombstone Civic Town Charrette was funded in part by a grant from the Heritage Partnerships Program, National Park Service, and by a grant from the Arizona Heritage Fund established by the Arizona State Parks Board on behalf of the State Historic Preservation Office.
