by Bill Bennett
Jessica Lavish opened Penny Lane Thrift
& Gift at 420 Arizona Street in Bisbee, in February 2005.
She was selling her “treasures” on E-Bay and
through yard sales when she realized that she really
didn’t have much of a social life. She decided that she
was too young to become a hermit and opened the store.
When asked what sets her store apart from
other thrift stores, Jessica told me that she uses a
buy/sell/trade method, so she can “hand pick” her
merchandise for quality. There’s a wide offering from
antiques and household items to clothing and automotive. They
also have a video club. When you purchase ten videos you get
the next one free. Prices are also reasonable.
Penny Lane’s staff; Jessica, Suzi,
Linda and Nikki; are ready to greet you with a smile and assist
you with your shopping. Their attitudes are always friendly,
helpful and fun and the store is clean, bright and well
organized.
Penny Lane is open 7 days a week from 10
a.m. until 5 p.m. They take Visa®, MasterCard®, checks
and, of course, cash. Stop in to see what in-store specials are
available. They also have additional specials on Sundays. You
can call (520) 432-3241 for more information and directions to
the store.
